Mini Apple Pies
Ingredients:
- 4 to 5 firm apples, granny Smith or golden delicious apples would work best.
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1table spoon of brown sugar.
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon A pinch of nutmeg.
- 2 teaspoons flour
- 2 tablespoons cold butter
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Two packs of refrigerated piecrust.
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425, spray muffin tin with no stick cooking spray, and set Unroll pie crusts onto lightly floured surface, using a biscuit cutter, cut out six rounds. Reroll scraps of crust then cut out two strips for each pie.
- Press dough rounds, into muffin Set aside.
- Peel and thinly slice apples
- In a bowl, toss apples, brown sugar, flour, vanilla, cinnamon,and nutmeg
- Divide mixture evenly among the muffin
- Place a small amount of butter on each pie, then top with pre-cut pie crust strips. this should be placed in a crisscross fashion, cutting off any overlapping strips once placed on the individual
- Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until topping is golden brown, cool on a rack for 10 minutes.
